Vehicle electronics failed

Hello I had a hazard sign come up today and the symbol of a car elevated on a ramp while driving. I stopped as soon as I could. Looking in the handbook it said, ‘you cannot continue on your journey’. ‘Contact your Service centre’. When I restarted my 2014 Z4 the warning had gone off and the ramp symbol had gone. I drove 3 miles home having turned back from my journey. I let the car cool down for 2 hours and restarted the car and drove a couple of miles. Did a system check which said OK. I would rather not go through an expensive diagnostics unless necessary…has anyone else experienced this fault coming up and then disappearing?

I think if it happened to me, I would get it over to my local Indy to run a diagnostic test on it. And maybe check to see if the battery should be replaced as well.

Often that's a battery warning, but its surprising to get that when you're driving as the alternator should be providing enough power. I get this occasionally, but at start up or if its left on the ignition, if the car hasn't been driven for a while. You'll need a code reader to see if it was stored as a fault.
