NO LONGER NEEDED Various seat components

Hi all,

I recently bought Recaro Pole Position ABE to replace the factory M seats. The Recaros PP will be getting retrimmed, while that gets done, I thought I would pack in as many factory items as possible.

So what I am after:
1. Seat heating pads for both the driver and passenger sides. I think the part number is 52107895856.
2. Seat occupancy sensor. From what I understand, this is only required for the passenger seat. I believe the part number is 65776921952.
3. Seat belt receptacle with wiring for both driver and passenger side, this is optional and if the price is decent.

I did have a couple of questions for the experts.
1. Do the M seats have side airbags built into the seats? This is just for my awareness.
2. For the driver side seat, is it just the seat heating and seat belt receptacle that plugs into the yellow connector underneath the seat?

Please note that I have also contacted the local BMW dealership, just in case they may have the parts.

Thanks

There are no airbags inside E85 seats.

The yellow plug under the seats can take 5 plugs. Two for the seat belt pretensioner, one for seat heating, one for electric seat movement and the last is for the seat occupancy sensor mat that is only on the passenger side.

Does your Zed currently have heated seats?

Is your Zed a prefacelift or facelift model?

Can you post a picture of one of the Recaro seats please?

This is what I was hoping for as I didn't want the nagging feeling that I had knowingly compromised safety by getting seats with no side airbag.

Great.

It's a 2007 reg E86 M Coupe, but the build was in late 2006. Yes, it is a facelift model with heated electronic M seat.

I haven't picked up the seats yet, I will be doing that tomorrow. Here is the website and product I bought:
Recaro Pole Position ABE Black Leather-Suede Bucket Seats

That's good that the car is ready for seat heating.

When you get the seats can you measure the suede areas. Give seperate measurements for seat base and seat back. Also for the back can you measure how high up the line going across is from the bottom.

Are you just wanting just the suede parts heated or do you want to heat the side leather parts as well?

My current thinking is that e89 or 3 series seats maybe the best option to get parts from for seat heating and the occupancy sensor mat. However until we get measurements we won't really know.

@Usel i have the seats with me. Hopefully you can see the measurement. If not let me know please.

I will be looking at heating just the suede part. Would the e89 or 3 series be plug and play in terms of the wiring?

BTW, you may not even need heating elements (unless you really have cold winters and suffer in the cold) as the 'suede' inserts don't get anywhere near as cold as the leather of the standard seats.

@mmm-five i am retrimming the car and will likely go with no suede finish. Having said that as i am getting older i find having heated seat is amazing for my lower back even in summer! Haha

I do appreciate the heads up on suede.

Wouldn't it have been cheaper to go for the velour/nardo cloth version if you're going to retrim it?

I originally bought the ambla leather/champagne dinamica combo, but got told it was NLA and so went for the in-stock ambla lether/silver dinamica.

Then I thought of retrimming mine in all champagne alcantara or half leather/half alcantara champagne, but then realised how quickly it'd get filthy.

I ended up just getting a new set of cushions made in champagne dinamica.

@mmm-five basically it was the only PP Abe in stock and I am impatient :)

I have not quite made up my mind in terms what colour trim I will go with. Saw LG Trimming in Fleet after RBM to talk ideas but nothing concrete yet.

@Usel just an fyi local bmw have confirmed they can source the heating pads (52107895856) and sensor (65777837724). The receptacles are not available apparently.

I have ordered the pads and sensor. If you have z4 receptacles please let me know.
