Are the vanos soliniods on 2.0 l ineterchangerble with each other..(the same).
Basically..
Changed the seals on them a few weeks back,as one was leaking..
When I put them back in ,car ran like it was a deisel..
And gave a fault code.took them out again and swapped them round, .
And it ran ok again..
Would doing this have damaged the engine.?.
Or maybe I have a faulty vanous,..
Any thoughts welcome

Yes, the solenoids are interchangable.

Maybe you have a gummed up or defective solenoid. Or maybe there was a problem with how they were installed the first time. The connectors can become a little loose over time.

I doubt damage would have been caused.

What was the fault code that was given?
