Vanos solenoid cleaning

Hi

Should i clean as a preventive maintenance or should i just wait until i get an error code thrown up?

If cleaning can i use brake cleaner or is maf cleaner better?

I don't think there is any real need. More frequent engine oil changes will make more difference.

If you do get codes/failures, it's going to be better to just replace, cleaning just delays the inevitable.

Cheers Guys

Ive just had a look on Ebay Germany and you can get a pair brand new for around 40 euros...not worth messing about is it.

Are they genuine OE (I assume not)?

They're easy enough to replace, so I'd personally not even bother having them in stock if they arrive within a week.
