Vanos Seals Replaced but still down on Power

Hi All,

I undertook the pain in the a** job yesterday that is replacing the Vanos seals as my 3.0i has been feeling down on power recently. I appreciate these usually need a hundred miles or so to bed back in but took it for a spin after and it didnt feel any different. Apparently the Disa valve was already rebuilt before my ownership so any thoughts on where to look next would be great. Felt like it dropped power pretty quickly rather than over an extended period of time?

Any thoughts would be great

Thanks

Is it running poorly? Have you any codes?

Could be a myriad of things you could throw money at if you aren’t careful and you’ll still be down on power

Where in the rev/gear range is it poor?

Feels like it's running fine, smooth through the rev range and to be honest someone new driving it probably wouldn't notice anything. Its just in a 2nd gear pull (for example) your not push back into the seat as you used to and it doesn't feel as instant, I would say 15-20% down on what it usually is and feels like in the lower revs its lost some punch.

No engines codes presenting at present either on the dash or plugging in a reader.

Top end does still feel relatively strong but always hard to counter the effect the noise of the engine has on the sensation of speed.

What condition are your intake hoses like? No leaks?

May be worth pulling the icv for a clean as that costs nothing, you can check the disa at the same time

Hi same problem on my 3.0si cleaned maf sensor car now pulls as it should might be worth a go 10min job and costs nothing
