Vanos repair - reports

Who's done the repair? Was the improvement significant (in terms of power/torque increase, mpg etc)? How experienced a DIY mechanic do you need to be?

I am thinking about doing it, but want to be sure that the benefits will be worth the 6 hour investment (or money equivalent!) :thumbsup:

This guy has a great reputation, and not too far from you. http://www.mrvanos.com/ At least then, you get a guarantee of the work done, or you can source the parts from him and diy.

Those that I know of that have had the VANOS sorted report major improvements in engine response and mpg. However, some fixes have been reported as short-lived.
