vanos bent pliers

Hi,

it's to pull 2 small plastic plugs out, I just did mine over the weekend.

One cap I used normal pliers as I had the engine jacked about two inches, the other one (R/h) none of the pliers I had would do it, I cut a slot into a 12mm Dia bolt... pushed it over the cap lug and pulled it out.

:)

thanks,
does anyone know what are the anti rattle rings for and if they are also necessary to replace?

Some say 90 degree pliers will be okay for that..?

I needed both 45 and 90 degree for mine. The 45 degree ones for the exhaust side, you route the pliers through the bulkhead to reach the cap. The intake side you can do from the top with the 90 degree ones.

I am sure you can do the exhaust side with the 90 degree as well, I just couldn't get the right access and found the 45 degree jobbies made it easier. As I had both (in the same packet) it was straightforward.

I pad about £10 for the pair from Sealey.
