Vandalism?

I find not th,e car but colour attracts attention.

Something black grey or inconspicuous is okay. A lot of cars now in a bright white stand about which draws attention (white golf mentioned above). The same car in a different colour wouldn't be an issue no doubt.
I drive a focus ST. They don't stand out much, but mine is orange and draws a lot of unwanted attention.

Know what you mean. However. My car is Black. Fact it's a BMW and handsome doesn't help with shittu people :(

Wife is a teacher and the family car (civic) has just had a dick'nballs the size of a petrol cap etched into the rear wing, while parked at school...
Grrr.

Sorry, but I did chuckle at that, its just the immature side of me (well, the only side to be honest!). Although I do sympathise, cos thats gonna cost to fix.

Regarding the scum walking to nice places,,,,as said, they can walk TO nice places...lets make sure they cant walk AWAY!

Trouble with scratching cars etc is that its so quick to do, even when just running past you could cause loads of damage I dont see any deterents. Stealing wheels is different, cos that takes a few minutes, alarm might go off etc.

As motorists we sadly just have to bend over and take it. Its not right, but its society. Some people think if you drive a nice car, you can afford to put it right, or it'll be insurance so wont cost you (which it will!).

The best case is to notice the damage before moving the car, then hope theres CCTV etc, but even then thats a long shot to catching the feckers.

Touchwood, so far have not had any issues with theft or vandalism.

Desirable cars will always attract the undesirables in society unfortunately. It goes with the territory, as they say

Thankfully I'm careful where I park and my driveway is enclosed so haven't had any issues other than my BMW emblazoned dust caps being pinched while parked in town. Lesson learned, thieving robbing b*stards..

I read a post once about the dust caps being stolen by kids, cos they fit bicycle wheels - the guy knew who was doing it, but when he confronted the parents they said their little darling cherub wouldn't do it....unfortunately the kid was with them with his bike....so the guy pointed to the bike wheels and the kid was busted!

Yeah, kids are the main ones I fear for. Some lean on the cars innocently however the have jeans on where the metal studs can scratch the car. I dont mind some people who walk around the car and have a look in the cabin, some people just really like cars.

I'm in London and some git keyed my car from about the middle of the door up until the middle of the front wing (about 1 meter long). This could have either happened in Kensington or South Ealing as the car was dirty and I didn't notice it straight away.

Another time someone smeared hair gel all over it outside my parent house.

There are unfortunately some ill informed haters out there who are jealous because they think our cars cost an arm and a leg.
