Valvetronic motor help! How to change?

hi all, hope someone can help.

My engine management light has come on and the garage tells me it is my Valvetronic motor and needs replacing. The car has gone into limp mode.

I can get the part from my local stealer for £200, does anyone know if this is a job that can be done at home?

Any help is really appreciated

From memory the valvetronic engines are not very easy diy engines. You might be ok though if is just a volt on part.

Thanks for the advice guys. Fitted a new motor today so fingers crossed it will fix any issues, so far no lights and no limp mode
