I just hope they wont look a lil tacky.

I have plain lockable ones on mine - Similar to these

Not keen on the logo'd ones

i have the set seen above by richbrook, you need a little key to get them off. when i fitted them i asked a mate to try and get them off just out of curiousity and they wouldnt budge, they were about£12 but worth it.

Careful as I know of one owner who had to saw his off as they welded solidly onto the valve.

Im not sure the quality of the metal would be the same to be fair though.
Mostly, not always but mostly, you get what you pay for!

Dont go down the ebay rout as i did.
Ended up costing me £20 for 4 new valves, not to mention the fact that i damaged the valve of one trying to remove it. Ended up with a puncture and stranded at a friends house. For some reason the metal of the valve and the metal of the cap fuse together.

I've got the lockable ones on mine, seem OK never had a problem taking them off when I check tyre pressures.

I've also got plain lockable but I can't imagine why anyone would want to steal them anyway.... :P

I had one stolen too. Only 1 out of four. I suspect either another BMW owner to replace a missing one or make a Tie tack of it, not cuff links, cause they just took one.
I replaced them all with cheap silver caps from an auto parts store.

Its the really cheap ones that fuse.
Crap aluminium used which oxdises for fun and effectivley welds to the valve thread.

Cheap ones = not always ..... Aluminium = yes
I purchased two sets at a discount store (Walmart automotive department) for the grand sum of $3.90 + sales tax. I was careful to choose the chrome plated brass caps. Wax the threads on the valve stem and cap, reapply wax every six months. No problems after two years, they go well with my wheels, and are cheap to replace. Being a generic non-logo type cap which looks very similar to the locking ones, they don't disappear very often.
