Values

Hello everyone

It's been a while since I've been here and I'm looking for opinions.

I am considering selling my Sepang Bronze Z4M roadster and am wondering about values.

Ive seen these cars for sale with very varied prices i.e. £ sub 13-19K.

The car is a 2007, 6000 miles, champagne extended leather, one touch and auto open smart top roof module, front strut brace, Bmw iPod, iPhone carriage, modified CDV, recent new tracker monitor fitted.

Spec wise pretty much the norm I think, heated seats bi xeons, dimming mirrors etc, NO SAT

Obviously for such a low milage car condition is very clean and it's just been fully valeted.

Thoughts ?

I sold my Sepang MR back at the start of the year. Price range wise you'll get better in the summer of course, but with just 6k miles and you as the one owner I reckon you should also be speaking to Hexagon's and see what they'll offer. Just so you have a benchmark from an inflated dealer.

Yours has got to be worth the thick end of your specified range, even though Sepang is quite a marmite colour to people. Doubt you'll have problems selling.

Way off Woots for that mileage... Considering prices and bearing in mind 'summer' probably the 20k mark but speak to Hexagon as suggested, they'll easily stick this car up at 30 grand. Specialist dealers will be all over it guarenteed it's a good car with good history.

Blergh ummmm 16k?

Probably the best cour combo along with the extended leather?

are you mad?? lol!! way off.... 6k mile 1 owner car?? what ever way we want to spin it these cars wether it be coupe or roadster are creeping up in value, hold out for top money as the dealers ARE getting it, if this was sytner it would be up for 22k and it was hexagon..... jesus.... 28/29k???

Selling private i'd think you'd be able to achieve £17.5k to 18k, maybe list at £18.5k - £19k.

No nav might affect it (seems to make cars less desirable to the masses), but one owner and only 6k miles will be a huge draw.

What is the service history like? Did it have the running in service on time and an oil service at least every two years?

Does the car have a BMW warranty?

Yes Hexagon / ML / Sytner would list this car for silly money, but chances are it'd be sat around for a fair while waiting for the right buyer.

Even if this was a coupé, I don't think selling privately it'd achieve much more than £20k, so £18k as a roadster would probably be about par.

Guys for info.

The car had the running in service about a year after it was bought, but well within the mileage. After that it's been serviced based on the computer.

No BMW warranty as it is privately owned from new.

Yes it's one owner only, bought from local main dealer.

Garaged, when not driven.

It has a few bits that can easily be sorted to be 100% mint i.e. scuff, on the lower front apron and a small ding (3-4mm) on front wing. A panel beater friend is going to sort those out, otherwise its as good as the day BMW rolled it out.

I don't even recall seeing any paint chips on the nose.

I bought the car as I thought I was coming home from overseas job, but the work kept coming in..

It's been used occasionally by my wife while I was away, I used it as my run around on average about 8-10 weeks a year.

Only considering selling because of back problems.

I had intended to keep it a few more years and maybe, do brake upgrade, supercharge it etc as a bit of a street sleeper. I might still do that but keeping it is inconvenient due to lack of space.

Could you expand on the serviced based on computer comment?

What services and when were they carried out (date and mileage). Is it full BMW history?

Based on its age and that the running in was after a year (so 2008), it should have had an oil service and brake fluid in 2010, 2012 and due one if not already carried out in 2014. Is this correct?

The only other question I'd have is what precautions have you taken to store the car given that's it's driven so infrequently?

The car sounds like a good one, I'm tempted to swap to a roadster and love Sepang

Stuart Truman bought his imola MR from a Sytner (I think) on 6k miles at somewhat less than £20k in January last year. Out of season for roadsters of course, but Steven is pretty close to what he paid in his estimate so I think that's not bad advice to take

Few questions / points from me

1) you say it was a one owner car? Presume that was before you / which makes it 2 owners?
2) the car has desirable aero skirt fitted - this by you?
3) does it have electic folding mirrors
4) is the stereo DSP / top end 10 speaker setup?
5) is the leather unmarked?
6) condition and brand of tires? Presume original given mileage?
7) same question as 6 but for the brakes on the car
8) what service is up next and when?

This this will help formulate a more accurate price

Thanks
Jamie

Guys

If anyone is interested in more details about the car contact me via PM

As for question above about servicing, I'd have to check the service book. Early services were done by BMW then it went through a specialist I know and trust. Last one was a minor I think.

The services were done to the book as to what was required and timed when the cars maintenance readout came up on the dash.

The car was taken out for a run occasionally while I was away. Garaged on an optimate whilst not being used.

I have a set of braided brake hoses and a set of brand new pads I was planning to fit this summer even though the next service isn't due for a while (miles ?). Thought pads might be a good idea given they have to clear off the light corrosion when the cars stood a while.

Ive already got a replacement car hence mulling over whether to keep or let it go to a good home.

Wow sounds like my pefrect Zed. Love Sepang.

Only query would be on the servicing. Should be something like.

Running in service at 1200miles. Then 3* bi annual services to keep the oil and brake fluid etc fresh.

Don't think ins1 is age driven, but some one might correct me on that.

What's in the log book?

It's not as simple as that - you need a calendar as well as the dash!

BMW recommend servicing at the mileage shown on the dash or every 2 years, whichever is sooner. So for a very low mileage car (like yours), the requirement is for a service every 2 years rather than going by the mileage indicator on the dash.
