Hi,
I am new to this forum. Have yet not purchased a Z4.
Are there any valuation guides which can give a good indication of value.
I have Parkers, but the values they give appear well below the prices I am seeing at the moment.
Any help would be great.
Looking for 06, 07 plate 2.5 with about 70,000 miles.
 
Good morning and welcome.
I would suggest that joining a forum is a positive step, as you will be able to read up on so much about these cars and form a more accurate idea of value.
So much depends on spec, mileage, history etc, whereas a dealer is more likely just to lump it in with all others of a similar ilk.
Take a look at the sales pages on here, then decide which options you'd like, favourite colours etc and put a 'wanted' ad up.
That may get you a better response, both from sellers on here and other members who may know of others for sale.

For some reason book prices never truly reflect the z4 market, what you are looking for (2.5si) I would expect to pay anything between 5 to 6.5k in the UK depending on condition and spec in a private sale, expect a dealer to ask more

Use the autotrader app for valuations, you can enter reg and miles and it will give you a trade valuation and one for private sale.

you can also use we buy any car with reg and mileage for a bottom line price, adding around 30% for a dealer and maybe £1-2k for private.

I would only use wbac for this if you are genuinely interested in a car, as they are heavy on the emails.

Then, you can negotiate based on how long they have had the car for sale.

Also, buy in October when prices are lower. You can pay a premium this time of year.

Asking prices vary wildly for E85s, but so does condition!

Price guides are not your friend when it comes to these cars, as they are significantly out of touch with real world pricing.

In addition, there are opposing views (on this forum) for what constitutes a high, fair, low price.

In my personal opinion, Condition, specification, Mileage and maintenance history all drive prices up/down... but there’s no Magic formula.

Most people, but not everyone, desire a Manual car with heated MSport seats, MFSW, Zennon’s and cupholders!

The later Si (Facelift cars) command higher premiums, but be aware that there is a facelift non-Si 2.5 with lower power that’s available for less (but is still a straight six)

Stating the obvious to a degree, but a 70-100k mileage 3.0si Manual with Heated MSport seats etc in a great colour could command a significant premium over a better condition, lower mileage car without heated MSport seats.

Incidentally, although there are less E86 Coupes than E85’s... there are less E85 3.0Si’s than E86’s.

So if you want rarity, a genuinely quick and reliable car and to be able to put the roof down then E85 3.0Si all the way... if you’re prepared to scrimp on spec a little you can get Excellent examples from £6k+
