Valuation sites? Z4 to go:(

Hi

Anyone know of any free UK car valuation sites. I've paid to use Glass in the past.

Is it better to sell/trade in a Z4 now or in Feb? Probably going to trade in for a Mk 5, 5 door Golf GTI

We have a baby coming :) and the Z4's time is numbered :( as in inner London insurance on any car is nuts.... so two cars expensive and pointless as we tube to work... so the Z has to go within the next few months.

Thanks

I use Parkers, free for a basic valuation. You need to pay for chaning the mileage and/or options... Other way is to do a completed listings search on eBay?

Use the Vauxhall/Network Q site if it still works - it uses Glass' and it's free.

But it's more accurate to judge what they'll actually sell for in this market using the classifieds, etc.

just because a rag gives you a guide price doesnt reflect its true market value. a better indicator is to look in autotrader and ebay and see what cars are actually selling for..... not what they are listed for. listings which have been there for many weeks are overpriced and listings which disappear within a week are the ones that are selling

+1 bang on

Use the free vauxhall valuation. Its more realistic than most. I find wise buyers, parkers etc hugely optamistic.

Spot on  but make sure you compare against similar examples. Recent expenditure on items like service, tyres or brakes will add something to private sale prices but make little or no difference to the trade. There are also regional variations so use the 'distance' feature in web searches to see how many similar cars are within a reasonable distance (say 100 miles) and what prices look like.

Thanks everyone. srhutch I'd normally agree but who knows given the shocking state of the economy. Normally I wouldn't care much what happens to the value of my Z4.... It's for enjoying not an investment. Gutted to have to swap the Z4. This forum is fantastic too and will be something I miss.

At least I got to do a Eurotrip across France and into Spain.... Something every Z4 owner should enjoy. The roads are sublime;)

Anyone got a mk 5 Golf GTI? I'm not a fan of the similar aged 1 Series and dont think a 3 series will be as pratical as a Golf GTI. Thoughts?
