Hi all, looking to change my M for another one so mine will be coming up for sale but I’d appreciate the thoughts of those on the forum ref pricing. I think 11 - 11.5k is a reasonable ask?

The car is as follows:

Silver grey 2006
Good body work and paint - has stone chips
110k
Rod bearings done at 100k
Valve clearances at 100k
New rad / thermostat at 98k
Poly RTAB
HR lowering springs
All oils changed
Braided front brake hoses
New clutch at 108k
Oil change every 5k
Retro fitted cruise control
Updated satnav
Dsp 10 speaker system
Vibra technique engine mounts
CDV delete
MOT June 2020
Dynomat to both doors

will post pics later

Constructive comments are most welcome.

You've done a lot of work to your car there....are you looking to change to another M just to reduce the miles on the clock? Would feel like a false economy to do that.

Is this an MR, if so the money seems about right....someone will get a car which has had 50% of the value spent on it in the past few miles. Bargain

I’m hoping to get an Imola red M mate - I’ve always wanted one and one has come up at the right price!

It is to a certain extent false economy but that said, you only live once 😊

I think your ask is reasonable especially to forum members as you have undertaken quite a lot of recent preventative maintenance. The downside is that it is closely priced to lower mileage examples.

Was it this one by any chance? https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=118502

Was interested myself but timings were difficult and thinking I would like a lower mileage one. I do like the Imola Red but I think I actually prefer Silver Grey.

It is mate yes - I missed out on an Imola when I purchased mine as it was just that bit too far on price.

I went to view this one at the weekend and it is in fantastic condition, has great history and drives beautifully and has had the right work done. There are a few bits needed to be fair and you can have the age old argument ref rod bearings. Dave came across as a very honest and open bloke, he allowed me to test drive the car fully without hesitation and didn’t press the sale and we all know that the money is right on it. So with that in mind I thought go for it - what’s the worst that could happen, I end up with 2 M’s - and probably no testicles but hey ho 😊

Agree, it looks a fine example and at a very good price.

Will you get the Rod bearings done on your new Imola?

I won’t rush mate no - the car has had oil changes every 6 months an FB the previous owner is like Dave and I in that the car always warms up before being driven so if I continue that then I think it will be ok. Ultimately I will get them done but I won’t rush as I did with the silver grey car.

I hope the dampers were replaced relatively recently, especially with lowering springs? If not the original stock units are doing nothing at all by now.

I'm assuming it is an MR, but it would be useful to know for sure! If it's an MC, yes please.

Interior colour and the whereabouts of the car are also helpful to anyone who might be considering one.
