Hi all, long time no post!

I'm considering getting rid of the zed, but I really need some help on the value.. I'm considering selling it as a basic car and getting rid of the desirable bits on here? i.e seats and wheels?

Below is a rough advert:

Spec:

6 Spd manual
Auto lights/wipers
Sports button
Individual Amarone Sports Electric, memory, heated seats
Electric Folding Wing Mirrors
Autodim rear view mirror
CD changer
Aux In
Tyre Pressure Sensors
Gaptech+ remote roof control (this allows opening of roof by the key, and also one touch control inside)

8 Months MOT
148k Miles

The following BMW upgrades have been made:

Thicker re-trimmed steering wheel
Retrofitted wind deflector
BMW ZHP weighted Gearknob
Amarone Heated Electric Sports Seats
224 Alloy wheels.

The car has been serviced near enough every 6 months with me (usual services, following BMW guidelines, including spark plugs, air filter, pollen filter etc etc etc and it's had the following replacement parts in my ownership to freshen it up:

Lower front wishbones and bushes all meylee HD
New Clutch (2014), along with new gearbox oil, new exhaust seals and fitting kit. (including DMF inspection)
New Diff Oil and Seals
Both belts replaced
Oil Filter housing gasket changed
Rocker cover gasket replaced
New rear trailing arm bushes fitted (I suspected they were worn)
Full coolant flush and change with genuine bmw coolant

Some of the most recent pics I have:

I've seen these have come down to 4k now at the bottom end of the market, although mine is high miles it's been loved and is in very good condition for its age/mileage.

Would 4.5 with all the bits and a set of winter wheels included be ridiculous?

Thanks in advance your advice, p.s the new forum is looking great, very modern!

Price sounds ok in a couple of months time. I would like to be the first for the seats should you consider putting back to more basic. I have electric, heated non sports seats in black. Standard factory fitted. Best of luck with the sale.

I'd hold on a couple of months if you can until the weather picks up and go in at you're suggested price based on that spec.

Saying that, the Gaptech roof module is of no use to man nor beast and will devalue your car  so I'll have 1st dibs on that if you sell it on.

I call dibs on the gear knob and second dibs on the seats if you split the goods.
Where abouts are you based as Im in SE London/Kent aswell

Depends if you have alternative seats & wheels to go back ?
If so defo split them / £750 seats - £500 224s is £1250 you won't add to the cars value
Then go £3850/£4k on the car maybe take a bit less & you're around £5k on a 03 150k Z which aint bad imo

Thanks chaps. My biggest issue is that I want to buy a new car, like now. So I need to sell it. :-/

What do we think it's worth in the depths of winter?

As for the parts, if I do decide to split it, then I'll drop you all a line.

I have wheels, too many of them, but none that are ready to just bolt on apart from my winter wheels.

I'd probably look to do part exchanges with members to be honest, £550+someone's seats and £250 and someone's wheels or something similar. so then even if I sold for £3750 I'd be happy enough.

Thanks for the advice, I can't believe how much they've dropped this year! Just last year all 3.0's near enough were at 6k on AT/PH!

I don't think they have dropped , its Jan plus you have almost 150k on the clock ? add 3 months to the calendar & remove 70k off the clock & you have a £5500 Z roady

A fair point, well made.

I used the poor thing for work miles over an 18 month period and that just made the mileage sky rocket!

Driveway queen now as I use a bike for work!

As mr wilks has said Rob, part the bits out to get more value. At least the seats and the wheels if not too much hassle.

I think I will be Steve, I guess the value is only increased to those in the know that are looking to buy a car without the hassle of making upgrades!

To be honest I think asking £500 for your seats plus a swap would be great deal for anyone.
I might be Interested in some of your other wheels. I might be after another set or even 2 more wheels to add to the drift collection 17" minimum.

The best option for you is to strip it sell the bits. And get what you can for the base car.

I agree. I'd love to sell it as a package, just because it's great as it is. I'm going to continue with my man maths for the porsche and then once I'm sure of what I'm doing I'll start to split it up I guess.

I've got two spare sets of wheels, a set of 108's and a set of style 32's (17's in fresh grey powdercoat) that I use as winter wheels.

Well I might be interested in one of the sets but as they drift wheels I would want the scruffy cheap set

The 108's are as scruffy as it gets. They're actually sitting in two pieces with all the bolts out, in various states of paint. I took them apart to refurb them and never got around to it

We'll sort something out at some point mate!

They sound like the ones for me

I'd happily buy the car from you, swap the bits out with what I'd want in mine and then sell the remainder on for a better deal in the summer, but that's not really being a loving forum member now, is it... :-)

If you and rob can strike a deal I can't see an issue. As said it will be worth more in the summer regardless and rob wasn't gone.
