It is "just a car" and there likely will be other nice cars there too. As long as they don't crunch it, you should be fine.

Easy for me to say, it's not my car we're talking about.

^^

Insurance covering any damages isn't the issue. You have to take the time to call, make an appointment, drop it off...if you can avoid potential problems why not? Everyone knows anything can happen at any time, but I do try to avoid them, although not always possible :)

I think you might also be giving too much credit to valets thinking they wouldn't mess your Z4M just because they get to drive Ferrari's/Lambo's from time to time. A Z4M might be just a car to some people on the forum, but it's also a car that most, if not all, valets can't afford to own. And we all know how rare the Z4M coupe is, so from a valet's point of view, who knows when will be the next time he gets his hands on a Z4M coupe so he can do a comparison between it and the 911's, etc.

Twice I have witnessed first hand how BMW technicians at the dealers messed with customers' cars. One time it was an M3 with BBS LM's and pretty loud exhausts - the technician did a burnout and squeeled the tires again shifting from 2nd to 3rd. The other time, unfortunately for me, was my own Z4M. After I handed the technician the key (he had to drive around the block into the service shop), I went back outside to see him take off in my car because, well, I wanted to see how my car looked like in motion. The technician had no idea I was standing 100 feet away looking at him. As soon as he turned on the engine he revved it "high" several times while the car was parked, probably to hear my Eisenmann exhausts, but no doubt it was unnecessary. 10 seconds later after he had left my sight and I was ready to walk back into the service department to talk to the service manager, I heard him gunning it in first and part of 2nd gear. Keep in mind that these are people who get to drive BMW's, who get to drive the M3's and the Z4's all day long.
Ummm... which dealership was this at? :o
:hijacked:

The M3 was at Fife. My Z4M was at the dealer in Vancouver, B.C.. Knowing which dealer you usually go to, I think you're okay. :)
