Yesterday the Dutch GP took place at Assen. I have been a keen fan of Moto GP for many years and really enjoyed seeing Valentino Rossi come up through the ranks of 125, and 250 becoming world campion in each class. Then to see him rise up through the 500 cc class and then to the modern day 4 strokers and becoming multiple world champion for Honda and Yamaha.
It has been desperately difficult to see him pretty much languishing through 2 years with Ducati and then the first part of this year with Yamaha to the point where i'm no longer fussed if i watch it or not.
Yesterday his and my agony ended. yes, one of the top riders had a collar bone operation (Jorge Lorenzo) and drove the race, but he won in the face of extremely stiff opposition.
Some engineering work by Gerry Burgess and his team has finally paid off. Vale can ride his Yamaha the way he wants to and has the feel he needs in the front end.
Well Done Valentino Rossi! May it all continue. You, in my opinion are the son of God when it come to motorcycling ability.
