FOR SALE Valencia Orange market

For Sale
Hi everyone, thinking of selling my E89 in next few weeks 2.0i with 32k miles full history and excellent condition . I liked the colour alot when I bought it but wondered if it's a marmite colour when it comes to selling it on ? Haven't advertised it yet apart from a guide price for a standard car via Carwow site.. Any thoughts be grateful to hear opinions . Thanks vm , Steve

VO is definitely a favoured colour by many on this forum, so I would say it isn't particularly marmite (unless the rest of the population think differently to those on here).

I am not a fan of 'lairy' coloured cars, but I would take a VO (or Sakhir Orange on other BMWs) in a heartbeat.

If you are thinking it may be worth more due to the colour; not sure about that. I would expect most people to buy a car on condition, mileage and history, rather than colour. Unless it's in a colour they really dislike, then they will move on.

Probably not helpful on an "ordinary" car, but I don't think it hurts on a Z4. Possibly does even help. Personally I was VERY keen for my last Z4 to be VO, and I was willing to pay more and travel a lot further to get a good one.

I had no trouble selling it. You may have a smaller pool of potential buyers but they will probably be more motivated. I would choose list price without taking colour into account, but hold out for asking price or close if you're not in a hurry.

I feel that it’s specification (eg SE/MS and engine size) first, then condition/mileage/history all equal second, and then detail spec (eg toys) and lastly colour. I would never buy a favoured colour if all/some of the majors were lacking. Similarly I wouldn’t buy any car if I hated the colour (or more likely a colour combo). But having a great colour is always an asset. Mine is white so it’s a take it or leave it colour. I haven’t found anyone who doesn’t like VO. it’s a great colour especially in the sun. Unlike Atacama Yellow of Havana……. Awaiting the lobbed bricks lol

Spec is subjective, but most people buy/value on age and mileage, so I would base price on similar age/mileage on autotrader.

I've seen plenty of comments on here of "overpriced" when someone asks why their car isn't selling and the response is usually "yeah but mine's got heated steering wheel so it's worth more than that newer one with lower mileage" or whatever. No, it isn't. Age and mileage vs what else is up for sale.

It’s a sought after colour with a good mileage. If it is a decent car at a fair price it will sell. Take care with the wording for your ad. and provide some good photographs. GLWTS.👍

I always prefer a car in a proper colour rather than some monochrome shade, so if I was looking for an E89 Valencia Orange would be my favourite colour!

I can't see the colour being an issue when selling, but good luck anyway.
