Vacuum pipe

So I have the following codes coming up on my snap on reader

2A2F Mixture Control 2
2A2E Mixture Control

Car is an E85 3.0Si Sport with the 3.0 N52 engine

I believe these are caused by a vacuum pipe around the back of the valve cover but I'm unsure which one it is.

Can anyone shed any light in which one is the common fault causer.

I know other models have small rubber blanking plugs on the back if the inlet manifold, these do perish with age and fall off, if you have these on yours you should be able to see or feel them under the back edge of the manifold. Failing that try a smoke test, that will find any leaks. Pumping smoke into the system from the engine side of the Maf so it dosn't come into contact with the Maf sensor. Best remove it and use a rubber glove over the intake bellows and pump the smoke into the system through a removed finger from the gloves, it seals around the smoke emmitting pipe. Scan the engine compartment for escaping wisps of smoke and you find whats leaking.
Bit far from me otherwise I would have done it for you.
 
Check the two blanking caps at rear of manifold they are about an inch long and face the fire wall. Ccv valve could be failing and associated pipes. The boot that comes from the air box become brittle. I have had problems with mixture fault codes in bank one and two. New MAF did the trick but I replaced all the pipes as a result
 
I had a similar issue, thought it was a vacuum leak. Changed all the air hoses (pcv etc.) Wasnt that but good to have changed them although a painful job. Anyway, tried a smoke test which didn't show any leaks. In the end it was the MAF but wasn't certain until I had replaced it. Went for a used genuine VDO Siemens one. Happily it was the fix and I saved over £300.
