V5C number?

Looking at an E89 to buy online. I have its registration number and now know that it hasn't been MoT'd since 2022, but the seller won't give me its V5C number, so I can't check further. Or can I?

Pay for a pee purchase report. Car vertical or something similar.

Edit - ignore this - misread your post as vin, not V5C number!

All you need is the reg number to see the MOT history..what does the V5C give extra?

VIN number I assume is the most important..

You'll also get the vin off a paid pre purchase report too fwiw.

As you say v5 number is not relevant, it's the number of the registered keepers doc, has no bearing at all on the car history.

The only thing I can think of that the V5 reference number will give you is the RFL amount and taxation class.
What do you want to find out?
