V32.2 FIRMWARE

Great news guys - good teamwork!

Out of interest, can anyone post some shots of what the new firmware looks like?
Perspective, splash screen, etc.

Thanks,
S

v32 is..

i run a modified one that has different colours & speed cam alerts etc, that obviously isn't official. xoutpost had a thread somewhere if you're interested.

Have you got any photos of your changed firmware?

Does anyone know if you can make other changes with the custom firmware as I find it really hard to navigate the Sat Nav system sometimes?

Not as far as I'm aware

But yes, it's not the most intuitive sat nav - It took me 4 months of ownership to understand how to access the 'nearby' feature, which has since saved me more than a handful of times when running low on gas

I'm struggling with the basics ;)

How do I tell who's calling me? I seem to have to press menu then Bluetooth or just press buttons until I see it at the top. Surely it must be easier than that?

Also to change mp3 folder do I really have to press SEL then highlight the change directory then hit the knob then move left and right? Then when you move left and right it doesn't give you album name just a number so you have to listen to the first bit of the first song until you realise what album it is.

Am I missing something? :headbang:

Bluetooth interoperability is phone dependant. My iPhone 4s works with better call quality than my previous blackberry, but I don't always get caller ID and SMS messages don't appear on the screen. I don't know if the compatibility list is available for E85/86 models still. The last time I looked I could only find the E89 list

Tapatalking...

When I'm on a call the quality is great. I don't get SMS but I didn't expect that and I do get caller ID but it doesn't automatically show on an incoming call depending on what screen I'm on.

The 3 downloads of this firmware are available on the links below*.
Please remember that I take no responsibility for these files, nor for any damage they may cause to your computer/car/marriage/criminal record/sexual orientation. I am simply hosting them for the benefit of the users of this forum

* May take 30mins before they're all available, so don't worry if they won't download straight away.

Thanks so much. ISO filed worked great. Does anyone know how to access the near by feature? or the camera traps etc.....thanks

I have v32 with perspective view etc... But where the hell is the 'nearby' feature ranski ? Or do I need a newer map disk than the 2006 one I have ?

Thinking about it, it'll take me to at least one petrol station that it will think is on the A2, but as the A2 has since moved, it is not now... SI I probably need new maps

I will check tomorrow, but I think it's under traffic/route information

In short it's a database that contains location info from petrol stations to cinemas

In a moment of impulsiveness I decided to have a poke around as I need to find my way to a hotel in Bracknell tomorrow and wanted to set it before tucking the car up for the night. You're right, it is in 'Information' near the bottom of the destination menu - Travel Information I think (I have a crap memory, it was only 30 mins ago  ). It has loads of stuff in there - but it couldn't be better hidden... Do you know if any of the information can be shown on the map whilst navigating ? I think I will go for a play in a minute... How sad am I

Just installed this along with 2010 maps (many thanks to you know who ;) )

Can't find postcode search though?

Good Stuff

Can't remember about the postcode thing though, under POI IIRC.

Well... now it's my turn to have this problem. :(

I decided to upgrade my firmware today to V32. I downloaded the CD ISO and started the upgrade process. It loaded the language files, and then a screen came up with "An Error has occured" followed by... a blank screen. :x

I'm downloading the V31 & V29 firmware ISO's right now; fingers crossed!

I'm open to suggestions... Canadian Z4 driver here.

Update: Fixed! After taking the car out for about 30 minutes, I tried hitting the eject button again, and the CD magically popped out. :) After that I used the v31 update and that got me back up and running. I'm not going to bother with V32 of any kind at this point... if it ain't broke, I'm not gonna try to fix it. :)
