V-power

I'm a believer !!!!

So as per the first response to this thread I couldn't see the point of 'performance fuels' and so always ran mine on standard 95ron. However, having read the posts here, I ran my tank down to empty - and I mean empty running the risk of having to push it to the garage - and filled her up with the BP optimate.

Oh my, what a difference. Im almost through that first tank now and im convinced that she runs smoother, picks up quicker, and I swear is quieter. Now I'm your traditional sceptic and don't buy into 'gimmicks' but there is something in this.

I would only consider the premium fuels if I there was a sufficient increase in MPG to cover the additional cost. Doing 360 miles a week in my coupe is costing enough using standard fuels where I am acheiving a healthy 39+ Mpg

Would hardly say my car runs rough on standard esso or shell fuel.

According to my fuel cap I can put 91-99 in .... Where do you buy 91 Ron fuel :o
I assume you're referring to the label which says 95-98 RON / min 91 AKI.

The 91 AKI is a different measurement system as used in the US & Canada, where it's an average of the RON & MON numbers, and as such about 4-5 points lower than the equivalent fuel using the RON rating.

That's a damn good average for a 265bhp 3-litre speed12

Thanks, I am very happy with it, I just hope the new Vred's I am putting on all four corners do not drop it down too much.

yeah but it deffo says 91-99 cant remember the other bits :)

speed12 I wanted to see how it was doing the other day so reset the counter thing when I was on the motorway and it was averaging ~40 as I cruised along. then I started driving on lanes so its much lower now. I think driven gently on motorways it will be high 30's. I used to drive from Runcorn to central Liverpool it was ~25miles. the driving was a nice mix of dual carriageways, urban dual carriageways and town driving. lots of lights stop start in town etc. I used to get 32-34mpg out of a 1.8 focus. for the few months I did it in the z I got 32-34mpg this was using either shell/asda 95 ron. I was happy enough with that. :)
