Usual annual insurance debacle !

I had a bit of a suprise this year... Insured with aviva last year....renewal came in less.

Rang them up and had to declare the wife had an accident (name driver) and my mods had changed (exhaust and stage 2+) premium goes up £15... To £450 ish.

Went on the comprison site and the closest price i can get with no mods (just the wifes accident) is well over £500.... Even getting a new policy with Aviva works out more!

So recon they made a mistake.... But the paperwork shows everything so happy days!!

What are people getting on the compulsory excess?

My current insurers and a quote from Chris knott are £350. Direct line can't do a policy with any less than £700.

The difference between the first two and direct line for the years policy is just over £100.

I've always gone for policies with the lower excess but with it a highly yearly cost and then never make a claim. What do the rest of you do?

For the last two years my Admiral Multicar policy renewal has come in cheaper than the previous years. I still do a quick shop round, but with the mods on my car haven't found cheaper. Renewal was £50 cheaper this year.

That's because they are insuring your white van & not an ///M :P
