Just wondered how many of you use your Z through the winter. Off to see a Z4M on Sunday.

Can't see it it being a problem, but wondered if any of you use winter tyres come sleet and snow. :?

I drove my last Z4 year round with no problems due to weather conditions. Went right thru that sunshine..
Ok, so I live in so. Calif :driving:

I use mine in all weather - look at my sig for example.

There was a long threadon this earlier in the year.

I was also out in the deluge we had just before Christmas last year...

Used mine last year and only had to abandon it once :) - just before Christmas when we had that sudden downpour that the met office said would not affect the area I was in, until they changed the forecast just as the snow started falling! Lost momentum due to the back end sliding all over the place going up a cambered hill so ditched it safely in a field. THinking back I could have probably made it up the hill but was afraid of getting stuck and/or sliding back down, plus had a very scarey moment just moments before starting up the hill so lost confidence also - while trying to keep momentum I ended up going sideways towards a hedge :o

Anyway, with new conti's on I found it was actually better than a colleagues Mazda RX8 on fairly used tyres. In fact he held on for me one evening as he thought I would not get going but I ended up pushing him with two others helping  , that evening I found it easy to get going.

I would consider winter tyres on the Z4 or a second car. However, we may have a mild winter you never know!

BMW are doing a deal on a set of winter wheels and tyres at the moment. If you have to use the car in the slippy stuff and low temp , it might be worth a look. :)

Is there a link(online) or a specific dealer deal?

I have already asked BMW,they only have 104 style wheels and set of winter tyres, will set you back £1215 (including fitting, balance and delivery of your old wheels to your home within 30 miles).

I'll be using mine, trying to prepare a 2nd set but have to wait and see.

Used mine all through last winter and enjoyed every minute, :D its the only way i can get my tail out  .But seriously found the car very able very snug and warm and at the time was on runflats, just put new falkens on so bring on the snow and i will let you know.
To good a car in my opinion to drive every once in a while. Steve

Just watch out for forest fires though.

unfortunatly my car hiberantes during the winter, the large summer tyres really dont like cold weather plus i like to keep my car away from the salt and crap on our roads, i do love to get it out on those lovely winter sunny days plus, the s54 just loves that freezing cold air!!
