Used Z4 awaiting part

Hi there,

Noob here - First post to this form - I am in the process of purchasing a low mileage 57 plate BMW Z4 3.0si Sport Coupe. The dealership tell me that when they received the vehicle in part exchange for a vehicle they sold they noticed that the ABS warning light is displaying intermittently. The car has been at their mechanics for a couple of weeks now awaiting a specific part - Any ideas as the what this part could be? - Thanks

Could be the sensor.

Have you put a deposit down on the car? Two weeks to sort doesn't really give a good impression of the dealer. Especially if the car is coming with a warranty

I have put a small deposit down on the vehicle but I have the option of another Z4 as well if this one falls through. I have seen all the vehicle documents and everything looks in order, apparently they have just been waiting for this replacement part to fix the ABS, it must be a difficult part to get hold of, to be sure. Apparently the part has arrived now and they say the car may be ready by this Wednesday, Thursday. I haven't been up to see the car yet for a test drive etc and I would get it checked out by the AA before going ahead with a purchase. Does all seem a bit odd.

Hi and welcome.

Why don't you ask them what the part is and then ask on here if anyone can he source it? It would appear from previous such posts that if the entire membership of the Forum pooled all of their parts the several Zeds could be built!

Hope it gets sorted soon. Announce the news with a picture!

Hi there RickRob,

Thanks for the advice, I will certainly do as you suggest and as soon as I can I will upload some pictures. :D
