9.30am drove to work, less than 20 minutes, oil temp normally reaches 90-95 degrees.

12.40 drove from work to nearby garage to get 2 new tyres. Less than 1 mile, through traffic. Took 5 minutes. Garage guys moved the car 10 metres into the workshop.

13.20 picked car up, garage guy drives it out 10 metres for me - noticed oil temp was 85 already.

The ambient temp is still pretty warm today, but I was surprised the car had retained such a high oil temp from 3 or 4 hours earlier - did the garage take it for a joy ride?!

Not necessarily so...

The N54 lump retains a fair degree of heat..the temp in the sump will stay there for some time...

You are right; I do have issues with Truss....and Sunak. They're both feckin useless. :lol:
