Used 35is availability

Would love a 35is, but yes they are few and far between.

I don't think the M135i is any slower at all. If anything it might be a little quicker. I think it was Evo or PH that recorded a 0-100 in the mid 10's. I thought the standard 35iS was low 11's.
Interesting article in Evo, because of the more aggresive gearing in the auto due to having 8 speeds, the auto is lower geared (and therefore pulls harder) in 4th than the manual car does in 3rd.

I was really chuffed when he said in evo that he preferred the manual box...as in this day & age I would have bet my house on him saying the auto. :driving:

I drive mine in Sport+ and in manual mode using the paddles.
Quickest way to drive it

My mate has a 535 and he has spent shed loads on it. (he would rather spend on the car than px for a newer one) Unsure of the drag run times but its up in the m5 possibly higher I think its sub 9 seconds for the 0-100. When he took me out for a spin, 110 came very quick I think this was in 3rd but did not seem as fast until you look at the clock. At the time I had the 3.0 and this was way more fun slipping the back end round. The 5 was just a saloon.

I have opted for the 2.8, so loosing the 6 cylinder and standard exhaust note of the 6. but gaining mpg and a bit more 0-62 i.e. sub 5.7 seconds and lower road tax.

These were delayed so I was shocked I could get one this early and in the colour I wanted used.
4 months old pre reg 28 miles and £12K off list. A 12 plate 3.0 next to it was £2K more and over 10K more miles. There are only 16 of the 2.8 on the BMW web site, still a lot more than the 3.5si.

In terms of rare cars, I have yet to get a z4 local to find my specification for the price I want to pay. this is for lower specifications 2.5 or 3.0. Even my last 2.8 I had to go 55 miles.

Just for note when I traded im my 06 2.5 sport for 08 2.5 sport the vin number was only around 130 different, I thought at first it had the same number.

When I looked at the boxer in 2006 (new shape then) a 1 year used was more than new the old shape 2004 was 14K lower so it depends on the life cycle, the new z4 was holding until Sep 2011 now larger discounts are available and more dealer pre reg are moving stock.

Evening everyone. It's been a very long time since I've posted...been having too much fun in my car :D

However, I'm looking to change the car and as luck would have it, it's a 35iS. So they're quite rare at the moment and I have no idea how to price...my local dealer (stealer) has offered £24k. It's a 10 plate with 24k miles in space grey with red leather interior and has professional sound and navigation etc. it's been very well cared for. What do you all think as to price?

I fully expect BMW (if thats who you went to) to mark that up and put it on the forecourt for £27950 or thereabouts. I'd sell it privately now if I were you. The weather is good outside and the 35iS is a rare car, so you'd have no trouble selling that for at least £26k IMO.

Give Greg at Sytner Leicester a call, he bought my 35iS from me last week after seeing it on autotrader, he said he had bought the last three that had gone onto autotrader. I had a p/x offer of 24.5k and sold it to him for 27.5k

Mine isn't on their website yet but one advertised on autotrader at the same time for 28995 is now on their website for 33850, I imagine mine will get a similar mark up.

Thank you all for your replies but especially Dblanco. I shall give Greg a call!
