Used 35is availability

Hello all, I'm new to this forum. I've had a test drive in a z4 and I'm fairly certain I want one. The only thing is that I'm after something with a bit more power (the one I drove was a 20i). Ok I'm after a lot more power.
I'm thinking along the lines of the 35is but they seem a bit thin on the ground.

Are they very hard to come by or is this just a bad time to be looking?

Thanks

I have noticed the number of second hand e89s on Autotrader has dropped dramatically in the last couple of weeks, time of year I guess. I am not sure that many 35is were / have been made, low hundreds IIRC, and they don't come up often. Lots of 35 and 35is owners on here though who can help though

Welcome to the forum.
I don't think many new ones have been sold, so second hand will be quite rare at the moment.
What part of the country are you in?

You're. Quite right, there are very few used 35is about. Not that many made, plus not that many demo cars in the bmw used chain. I was looking quite seriously a few months back, but couldn't find what i wanted. The new price is a joke fir a well specced car, so i have one eye now on used 911s at Porsche dealers instead. I guess its just down to patience. When i bought my 3.0 i waited of about 3 months for the right colour and spec. Once i bought it, there were suddenly a handful to choose from. I guess that bmw have a few 35is in the company car scheme. They will be available at some point. At leat they will be low miles and very high spec. Patience..

I spec'd up a new one for a laugh... With almost all the toys, £54k :o

Exactly. At £30k with just a few thousand miles, it makes alot more sense. That's what got me thinking about a 911. £80k new, but 40 odd with less that 10k on the clock.

35is is a good used balance of price and car i think.

Mine was £42k after discount, added all the extras except sat nav and sound upgrades.

Or just go for the M135i at 29K You would be bonkers paying 54K for a Z4

M135i is an utter bargain with 2 extra seats :)

Is that why you didn't buy one Mr TT?

I'm in the South. Starting to think about the 35i. I know there's probably not a lot in it performance-wise but I heard the exhaust on the 35is and fell in love. Maybe I need to check out the sound on a 35i before long.

The dealer contribution on the one I spec'd was about £7k IIRC... I had included satnav and sound upgrades, left out Internet and the through-loading option I think. Still £47k. Oh, it had the individual black roof too :D

The M135i wasn't out 13 months ago Mr T but if it had of been it would have been a no brainer, 32K for the 2.0 Z4 or 29K for the 135i :?

Tim.

Oh I didn't get the load through thingy either, but I just bartered on a cash deal, no finance and no px. I think I caught them on a desperate day because we bought an X5 30d SE on the same day and got £20k off the pair :)
