USB still charging iPod when key removed

Hi guys, I picked up my new z4 on Tuesday and forked out for the infamous Y Cable so that I can connect my iPod via the USB. The cable works great but it continues to charge my iPod when I remove the key. Is there any way around this without taking the cable out every time? Don't want it to be charging 24/7.

I'm using it with the BMW Professional radio, no idrive.

it stays on for about 10 minutes after you lock the car.. it's effectively on until the car goes to "sleep".
Don't worry - we all leave our crap plugged in all the time perfectly normal
