Usb port in glovebox

Anyone tried using the usb port in the glovebox?

I have a cd changer and can seem
To access the usb port! Any ideas! May have to pop to the dealers to see if they can do it!

I use mine all the time;simply plug into it and then select USB from the Audio menu.I don't have a CD changer but can't see that it would make any difference.What are you trying to connect to it? If it's just a memory stick it will play whatever is stored on it.If you're trying to connect an ipod or iphone you need the audio cable as well.

Are we talking about the USB in the armrest (for plugging in USB Memory Sticks with music on) or the one in the glovebox as micz4 seems to be talking about the armrest and the OP the glovebox...

If armrest, this (prior to MY2012/11) was optional and if fitted allowed you to play music on a USB device. If glovebox this is for importing Music and Navigation Routes and cannot be used to play music directly. The glovebox USB port is awkward to get at, but not impossible, having said that, I do not have the CD changer as I import all of my music to the hard disk for ease of playback.
