USB in cubby between seats

I want to put a USB charging port in the cubby between the seats.
I have nav in the car, but no longer use it, so I was wondering if I could use the power from the dvd drive to power the USB?
Has anyone done this, or is there an easier way to get power there?

They all came with preparation for the CD changer option which would be in the cubby, so maybe you could tap into that to power a USB?

You could remove the 12v socket and replace it with one of these. I done it in my old z4.

I wanted the port to be in the cubby between the seats, the back of the dvd drive has these plugs. Does anyone know if you can get these plugs as spares, wondering if I can get the male side,1000010950.png I might be able to find a pin out, wire it up, and unplug the dvd and plug in the usb.

I'd still try to use the connector for the CD changer as it's in the same place because the CD changer goes in the cubby.

I know you don't want the Sat Nav operational, but the next owner might prefer originality.

I could do, although I've done a double din conversion so sat nav is redundant. I guess it depends on which plug I can get easier to wire up.
