Hi had a play today coding the car for front US sidemarkers using NCSexpert.

here is the codes in the ALSZ module to get the front indicators to come on which need changing.

DRL_BLK_VORN_GEDIMMT = nicht_aktiv
DRL_BLK_VORNE_2_GEDIMMT =aktiv
SIDEMARKER_US = aktiv
DRL_DIMMUNG = Wert 02
GEDIMMT_BLK_BEGRENZ_LICHT = aktiv
BLK_DIMMEN = aktiv

Not the best pic as daylight was low

Fantastic, is it fool proof to do with the right kit? Or am I likely to balls it up :lol:
Is the stuff needed expensive?

But why would you want to do this? Unless it's to look like a prat and end up on first-name terms with all the local plod as they use our as an excuse to keep pulling you over - AIUI it's illegal to have anything other than white running lights at the front (in the UK)

There are lots of posts on US forums from people who want to turn off the sidelight markers as they know they look stupid

Well if it's illegal then most 5series should be pulled then :roll:

It's a matter of opinion and taste, when I had led sidelights the marker lights lit too and I loved it. (Never got pulled over by the way)
Since then I've wanted it coding properly

I think most people would agree this is a bit pointless and looks a bit odd, but each to their own. And it is illegal, but that doesn't stop people with silly number plates. :fuelfire:

Coding with NCS is much easier if you use NCSDummy to decode the FSW_PSW file instead of using the plain text file. Much less likely to make a mistake as well. That sentence will make sense to people in the know...
