In the good old days my parents would've stuck me in there in a sleeping bag if we were going on a long journey. I remember travelling through London in the back of my Dad's gold cortina estate when we were about 5, heading to my great grandparents' house in Kent.

My daughter was often transported in a carrycot strapped under the roll cage in my MGB roadster - she survived into these health and safety days!
