Urgent request for help - Brake calliper Mounting Bracket

MachineMonkey he wouldn't be able to use bigger bolts as it's a 2 in 1! It's the slider itself that holds the caliper on so it's not a bolt, it's a slider with thread at one end and an allen head.

Hope you get it sorted mate :(
Sounds like everything that could go wrong, did.
I've had days like that, seems like everything is against us! Don't let it put you off, just make sure you copper grease the hubs so your wheels don't seize again.

Hope you get it sorted mat. Tip for next time.

To get with the wheels off I tried everything and anything for about 20 min and it would not budge! I found if you sit down opposite the wheel and use both your legs to kick the tyre, repeatedly left and right, it falls off pretty easily. Much easier, safer than hammers.

Its the pins that secure the caliper to the carrier. They were ridiculously stiff to get off and I half wonder if they were cross threaded by the previous installer.

+1 on this, I've just replaced my pads & the pins came undone very easily on all four calipers, I very much doubt you cross threaded them, It doesn't help you right now but hopefully makes you feel better.

Cheers guys all good advice.

Well I'm planning to get this replacement carrier from this guy breaking a 330d. Just hope real OEM is right and that its the same part. If not it will be an hours drive and £30 wasted.

Thanks for the advice everyone.

I have now resolved the issue. Managed to track down a guy breaking an E46 330d,had to drive an hour to get there but I got a replacement carrier with piston and pins thrown in for £25. checked against original and perfect match. Car now all set up and working ok.

The only downside if that I did not have time yesterday to paint the calipers or carriers as i needed to get the job done. So I have one fully painted caliper and carrier and the other 3 completely untouched.... think I will try painting them in situ when I have more time.
