*Urgent* Making grey door cards black?

Hi,
to explain the situation, i'm changing my black leathers for red one's, and i didn't realise when buying the new red one's the plastic sourroundings are grey and my center console and everything is black... So it's not dramatical, but they won't look quite right :( !

So i've put an urgent wanted ad on here for a set of black one's that i can hopefully transplant the red leather inserts to, but i was also wondering if there's a decent way of making the grey plastic black ! I havn't got a clue if it's possible, or if it is, wether it looks any good anyway ?

Any advice would be such a great help as the car is coming down to me in france on thursday, so it needs to be sorted by wednesday !*

Why don't you remove the leather from your original door cards and fit the new red leather on them. It is a bitch of a job and needs a bit of cutting and grinding but is possible.

If you paint the grey ones black I think you will have problems with it flaking off in the future..
 
The problem with that idea is that i don't have my one's anymore... i did a swap with my interior + some money his way to get the red leather ones you see...

That's what i was worried about...

Get them 'flocked', search flocking! It's a pretty new fad in car modding world where people are dramatically changing the colour of the plastics and dashboards of their cars vans etc. Can be done very cheaply.

Now you mention that i think i've seen that once before... Would be one way of doing it, but havn't got the time for that and i would end up wanting to then do the center console and the rest to match ! i'm a bit fussy like that :lol:

But thanks for the idea, one to keep in mind for the futur :thumbsup:
