Urgent help please

Sorry, when I said the selling dealer I meant the original BMW from new selling dealer so in effect on mileage a full BMW service history

Just had the dealer on the phone and they have tried everything BMW said and nothing helped so they have now gone back to BMW for more assistance as the dealer has no effing idea as to what is wrong with her :!: :!:

Anyone want to buy a Z4 with only 8500 miles on the clock but also lots of lights on the clock

An update.

BMW have now said its the DSC unit thats at fault at a cost of £1,700 which is now a bill of £2,700 to pay if the DSC unit fixes it all on a car that is just over 4 years old and 8,500 miles on the clock.

So I say to the dealer, how about a good will gesture from BMW to be told that if there is a none BMW warranty involved BMW will NOT offer any good will at all so I ask them to forget the RAC warranty to b told they already know about the RAC warranty so can't do that :!: :!:

The bit I find strange is they offered a good will gesture on the rear lights about a month ago knowing there was an RAC warranty - only thing is the RAC warranty would not cover water ingress :?

I ask to see the service manager to make a complaint to be told the same - I even say the warranty has been withdrawn as it was mis-sold and he says there is nothing he can do.

I contact BMW customer services and they have a word with the dealer. They call me back an hour later saying there is nothing they can do

I am now writing to the dealer principle asking for help but don't expect much and have said to put the car back the same way it arrived to Coopers i.e. with all the broken parts on and I will take it away - no doubt after paying a large bill for the privilege :!: :!:

Anyone got some matches?

Thats a very poor response from BMW .
I would write to BMW as when push comes to shove you will have full documentation - it's too easy to say NO in a phone call.

Have you given this info to the selling dealer?

Just sent an email to the dealer principle so awaiting a reply. Will ask someone in customer services for a name of someone to write to and the selling dealer has been informed although they are not keen on getting involve - they may have to however under consumer rights :!: :!:

Sounds like DSC module, probably going to need a trip to the dealers.

Top marks for an accurate diagnosis !
It took the dealer a long time to find the problem.

So Coopers have washed their hands of my car, called me yesterday and told me to come and collect it. I asked how much I would have to pay and they said nothing of which I was astonished but very grateful.

Collected the car this morning and took it to Prestige German Cars and found a sensor under my hat on the passenger seat.

The chap as PGC said it was an original part as the date was 07/11 so I called Coopers to be told they were charging the RAC for the original sensor they had fitted as the RAC had said yes to that part so in fact they were charging £600 against my £1000 claim limit :o

After a lengthy argument they have agreed not to charge as I think they are clearly aware of their lack of decency and especially as it has made no difference at all and all of the faults are still there :!:

Effing robbing back stabbing bar-stewards :headbang:

PGC have called saying they believe it to be the DSC/ABS unit so are checking to see if a refurb unit is available and how much.

There are good main dealers & bad ( goes for all brands ) they aren't all the same but i wouldn't trust any of them with my own cars & much prefer a decent indy for service or repairs
Hope its fixed soon & you can put the episode to bed

Well she is now fixed and back on the road at a cost of £1267.00

Prestige German Cars diagnosed the fault within 20 mins and told me the ABS/DSC unit had failed but there was a fix kit available from BMW for some £860ish plus labour or a whole new unit for £1,700 plus labour.

As the pump had not failed he suggested the fix kit was the best option and especially as it was the control unit that was at fault.

He also confirmed the sensor BMW had fitted was not causing any issues at all and he even re-fitted the old part to check this (Coopers were going to charge £652.37 for this unit) and as the new unit was there he put this back on so I now have the old fully working sensor for free

I did some checking today and found I can buy the sensor from BMW for £71.32 so how in God's name can Coopers propose to charge £652.37 for a part that only costs £71.32 and was not needed in the first place :o :? :o

Speak to their service manager and ask for an explanation !
Remind them you will need a service - although would you take it there ?

From the service you've had at PGC you will probably stick with them I would guess?
