Just wondered if you would be able to give me some help, im in the middle of connecting up the wiring harness for the bmw bluetooth.

I currently have the two big white plugs and the three pin connector not connected to anything, which i presume is a problem because the system wont work at all when i try to pair to my phone.

What should these be conencted to? Also do you feed the harness through the middle hole in bulkhead ie where the cd changer is or through the one at the very left handside behind passenger seat?

Finally what did you use as the grounding point? I have used a screw on the left hand side of the boot which looks like it is already being used as a ground but I am worried cause the system doesnt seem to be powering up at all!

There are no instructions that I could find for doing this retrofit from scratch, ie car not being prewired......

Many thanks all sorted, only thing that worries me is that I have ammased nearly all the parts to retrofit sat nav aswell

Now the sat nav also has these two white plugs, so seeing as iv already used the ones in the car for the bluetooth, what do I do when it comes to sat nav?

I'll duplicate the PM I sent laser last night as it may help others:

You got problems then...

OK - now I'm 2 glasses of wine down so let's see if I can think straight and remember.

Ground - go under the LHS carpet and there is an earth junction which the eye bolts to. Somewhere near the suspension strut top mount

The 2 white connectors. This is the real bitch. From the ULF go left and up and there is a hole through the firewall. Deep in there is a connector that you split in half and fasten your 2 connectors to. You'll find it easier to take the rear speaker cover off behind the passenger seat for access. It's almost impossible to get to it and even harder to connect to but you'll get there in the end......

Harness goes through that hole into the car not via the central sat nav, DVD access. Runs along the underneath of the passenger rear strogarge box and drops into the centre console.

3 pin connector. IIRC I ignored that
