Urgent advice needed (Solved, dead battery)

How would you get out John :lol:

You obviously have not been part of this elitist lifestyle of personal portable garages :roll:
 
Not sure if still the case with Mercedes or any other manufacturer but if full MB history was kept up then free recovery UK +Euro was available no matter age or miles the last time I had one
Its been over 10yrs since ive used any main agent so no idea how long the free recovery or even warranty runs for on new motors :?
 
Battery 2 years I was told, full warranty 3 years (minus battery apparently). Recovery service is extra I think, but I have another year to go with that before I will find out what the deal is.

As an aside, nice trick from Porsche that with battery failure, the automatic (electronic) handbrake setting is "on" even when it was not applied. So no pushing possible, even with a manual.

No idea how I know that :oops:

Also, I would not know that in petrol stations you are not allowed to use an external battery to release the handbrake to be able to move the car. Neither would I know that the closure cost of a forecourt is £1k for a few minutes. Nobody would therefore stand in front of the camera to enable the backup battery to be applied to the specially designed connector plug in the car :whistle:

That's given me a nudge Andy, we kept my late dad's C180 kompressor, I need to check that recovery out. As a side note is'nt it daft with cars sometimes, it's an '08 with only 16,000k on the clock, garaged and mint, yet it's only worth around 9k, the things like new yet worth not much, it'd be a cracking car for someone. Crazy.

Sounds like you been through the ringer :D I can forgive a motoring fail , second time i'm not so forgiving & should there ever be a third then its time to part company :wink:
 
Second time was a couple of miles from the dealer - they had blamed the tracker, so replaced it. Tested it for a week whilst I was abroad, picked up the car and stranded at the first petrol station.

They finally agreed the battery was gone.
