upload a avatar

how the hell can i upload a avatar arghhhhhh

every pic i have it just sats too big, too many pixels too much this or that

im on a mac and not windows

Maximum size is 120 x 120 pixels
Maximum file size is 49.00Kib

Use this web link to reduce the size of your image to within the above limits (I found there was a lot of trial and error involved  ):
http://resizeyourimage.com/EN/#transform=&page_no=1&no_of_pages=1&filename=0.jpg&selection_top=36&selection_left=55&selection_width=437&selection_height=292&zoom=912&demomode=true

Click on your name (top right)
Select 'user control panel'
Select 'profile tab'
Select 'edit signature'
Then link to the image you want in your sig and add your text
Then submit

Note: there is a 255 character limit and also a file size limit for your signature image (600 x 150 pixels)

your right, what a clat trying to resize something to fit, i kinda got a bit of what i wanted...oh well now i know what my missis feels like haha

thanks mate

Thanks Marlon,

I'm slightly confused about the "link to the image" bit, do I need to have a link to photobucket or something similar?

Yes - you need to 'host' your image on a site like photobucket or postimage.org and link to it like this:

Something very odd is going on - I can see my sig now but I can't see Number5's avatar :-?

Photobucket has a limit on the number of times an image file can be accessed for "free" accounts. If you have a subscription account then there is no issue.. might be the reason?

Otherwise it might just be a caching issue, especially if you've moved the file.
