Upgrading Z4M :)

After a few laps, i want to upgrade a few points of the car, hopefully you help me :).

Brakes: which other pads than std are used here by people who track their car now and then. The std pads aren't that bad, but it just seems that it can't cope with the heat (after a few laps). Has anyone got other pads who work fine on street & track? If it doesn't work, i'll go for a bbk, but want to try an upgrade first :).
Upgrade pads, shouldn't be the Carbon Loraine etc, I know they work good, but they are really terrible for the paintwork :(.

Allignment: does anyone know what the factory allignment is and how far it can be adjusted? I want to have a bit more camber on the front, but don't how far std reaches :).

I use EBC Red Stuff pads. Much more bite but not been on track with them yet. Yellowstuff are more track orientated but not so good on the road when cold. I know that a couple of guys use Pagid pads as well or you could go the full hog and upgrade to APs, Brembos or BMW Performance. Expensive though.
 
Boy I agree with the pads not being worth a crap once I make about two laps the fade is horendious!!
 
Go for Pagid or Ferrodo pads first.

I just bought the AP racing 6 pot kit as I wanted a considerable braking upgrade. :)
 
Outrun,

The EBC redstuff pads should be more track oriented than yellowstuff pads. Greenstuff are oriented for sporty driving.

The trick with all of those pads is that racy pads need to be warm to perform well, while road pads work well under colder conditions, but fall through at heavy track usage.

EBC's website says the range gets more track-focused as you go through Green, Red, Yellow and Blue. Greenstuff are a comparable replacement for OEM pads whilst Redstuff are fast road and Yellowstuff are track & fast road pads.

And if you're a marshal, you get 50% off the price (proof & special contact info required) - I've already had some for the e34 M5 (Yellowstuffs as Bluestuffs were not available), and will be ordering some Yellowstuffs for the Z4MC when the time comes.

Not had a problem with brakes at Oulton Park yet though, but I tend to do 2 cool-down laps after a 30 minute session and let it rest for 15 minutes before going out again.

Last question, does anyone know where to buy camberbolts for the z4m?
 
I don't know any serious trackday go'ers that rate EBC pads. I'd stick with a set of Mintex, Ferrodo or Pagids tbh... I've had Pagid RS29s (yellows), and they were incredible pads on track, and worked just fine on the road.
 
I switched to Pagid 4-2-1 pads on a previous car and they were excellent for both normal road driving and when pushed very hard indeed.

I know a good few racers that run EBC's Yellows/Blues - BUT I don't know if they're running them out of choice or due to a race series sponsorship/regulation.
 
I'd vote for mintex although TBH I did a trackday on std pads and my brakes never faded even slightly all day!

Is your brake fluid servicing up to date?

i too have r888 and they are just the business (albeit noisy).. hardly get any wheelspin off the line no matter how hard (within reason) i try.

let us know what you think of them though...
 
Last question,

- fire extinguisher: ordered
- brake pads: almost :$ ordered
- tyres: ordered
- allignment: still not finished, would like some camber bolts, but can't find them, does anyone know a good adres?
