Upgrading the Stereo...

Hi Guy,

Hope your not getting sick of my questions just yet!

Right I've searched the forum and not really found the answer to my question!

The Z4 i'm looking to purchase only has a 6 speaker system! So I plan to add 2 door speakers and 2 subs behind the seats! Are the other 6 standard speakers ok left alone of would it be wise to upgrade them?! With costs in mind obviously!!! Also, I'm guessing an AMP will be required, question is, is the standard headunit equited to run sound to the AMP without modification?! Just maybe extend the cables or something and direct them to the amp?!

lots of threads about upgrading the stereos in the last couple of weeks, all with a really handy link to explain the whole system.

I've seen at least 4 with the links, do a quick search and you should find a wealth of info.

the current ones should be fine but might be wise to put crossovers in to reduce the frequencies sent to them, no you'll have to use something like a cleansweep as the stereo won't have component rca leads for an amp.
