Upgrading 10 Speaker 'Professional system'

I'm really fussy about having quality sound in the car. Not thump thump bass but high quality, clear sound.

My only choice was going to be a car with the Logic 7/Carver system but I've been offered a nice car (Z Coupe) which has the BMW 10-Speaker system. Just wondering if anyone has upgraded the speakers and would that work well with the stock head unit? I have top of the line Rainbow components in my M3 at the moments which sound fantastic, I would be after something equally high quality in a Z.

Thanks

From previous posts, upgrading anything other than the 'basic' system is difficult and may require lots of £££.

I find that the 10 speaker system (non Carver/Logic) with DSP is good. I too enjoy crisp clean tunage in the car.

Not sure if it's the sort of kit you'd use but it's a really helpful guide to what fits where and some of the problems fitting the kit in the Z4.

Very useful thanks. Yes, that's why I went for the basic spec in the M3, I wanted something where I could just throw away the stock stuff and fit high quality replacements, ending up with something far higher quality than the best factory upgrade. The problem with the HK setup (and from the looks of it the Pro and Carver setups in a Z) are the weird ohm ratings that prevent upgrading.
