Finally got round to swapping out the old side markers for the lci style ones. Wrapped them in gloss black vinyl myself. Cant decide if its an improvement or not. Thoughts?

Better than the square ones IMO, but somehow they almost look too glossy, if you know what I mean?

Look good..I had mine painted by pros..sadly not that competent..the silver OE variant never works for me..stil better than the old cheap as chips orginal though!

Yeah I think I do. Car's due for a wash so maybe it'll clean up nice along with the brand new shiny vinyl. I just can't stand chrome details on cars so that's not an option, and the ugly old style one was awful too. I have some more mods I plan on doing that hopefully will tie the whole car together, including wrapping the front lower bar on the front bumper and maybe going for the 3D Design lip spoiler.

Will just say that wrapping stuff is tricky! I was thinking of buying some pre-painted ones that I saw on eBay, but they were £190 for the pair, painted vs £90 + £18 for the vinyl (with some left over for the front bumper), so worth a bash and don't think they're too bad.

Looks good with the Atacama yellow for sure!

All depends ont the car colour, silver on red - blue - copper always, black or white is debateable, too much black and the car loses all its curves, highlights and 'shrinks'....... White can carry off either although I go for chrome myself.
Black on yellow so long as you have other black 'bits' as well, roof maybe.

If you like it then why do you care what others think! Enjoy it

Actually as you say black on black and black on dark blue isn't going to work..there are some options where chrome is better..I was referring mostly to the brighter coloured cars..of course all IMHO..

Yeah theres definitely certain colour combos that go and ones that dont.

I was gonna try wrapping the roll hoop covers but f**k that noise. With all those bends itd be a nightmare. Im just no good with the rattle cans and i dont wanna f**k em up. But i gotta get gloss black on them somehow cos i hate that brished silver finish. Its so cheap imo.

Beg to differ about black on black, in photos sure the definition is lost but in real life they are all there and look great (IMHO of course!). Personally though no matter what the colour of the body I would do the LCI indictors in the same colour. For me white and black and yellow and black (reminds me of bees!) just doesn't work but that's just me, we are all different!

I guess its the same story as black wheels, very difficult to get a great photo but in the flash very different..

We'll have to differ on yellow n black though!

You are right about the black wheels and how difficult it is to capture the design in photos. This is my first black car and it wasn't my first colour choice and whenever I saw photos of black Z4 they never looked that good, that was until I saw the car in the flesh!

Would it be overkill to add gloss black mirror caps too?

Have you got black grills too? If so why not, may as well complete the set.

Yes indeed. The chrome had to go. Thinking more about it, black mirror caps might make the indicators stand out less and tie it together more nicely.
