Hi team
Do you know if it's possible to "upgrade" a standand steering wheel multifonction to add bmw original paddles (even i have a manual transmission) ?

In fact, my problem is that i have a new exhaust since coupls months with a valve remote control... But it's not easy to drive with the remote control in a hand (not all time  ).

So my idea is upgrade my steering wheel with kit paddle and switch electronic (buttons) to remote control (quite easy with some electronics skills)....

A video of my actual remote (and exhaust sound i like  )

Thanks in advance team  :driving:

Nice idea...!

However the steering wheel has moulded shapes at the back to mount the paddles with holes drilled for screws to attach them, if you didn’t have these moulds the paddles wouldn’t sit very well and maybe be too close to the indicator and wiper stalks. Better to find another wheel with fitted.

Hi Silverstar, it's a specific exhaust made by a local manufacturer in France : https://proinox28.fr/
Very glad about work they did

- Stainless Exhaust starting from end of Manifold
(manifold original on 23i and almost bmw 6inline have 2 catalyst you need keep them for control polution)
- Middle "pipe" original removed for a direct pipe
- End exhaust with on pipe directly with valve open (great sound) and another pipe inside with fiber carbon classic to reduce sound (valve closed)

My advice for thoses who want change their exhaust with a marvelous sound (at 7000 rpm :o )
Don"t buy classic exhaust like Eisenmann or Supersprint or any of them. The sound is not very loud, many owner disapointted :|

Prefer to contact a local manufacturer for spécific exhaust, you can ask him the sound you want ...

A reason i prefer specific exhaust, i would like to keep original exhaust end pipe :D

About reason i want to install paddle on my steering wheel to control valve remote control :
At high rpm (4000 rpm / 7000 rpm), it's very pleasant to open valve for performances and sound
But at low rpm ( < 3000 rpm), it prefer close valve to keep more torque

That looks like a neat job and retaining the factory tips! I was thinking of going down this route with a local exhaust specialist. What did it cost you? I assume it would be way cheaper than going with Super sprint, Eissenman etc.

In france, around 1500E with 2 years warranty and valve remote control "pneumatic" (better than classic electric way).
Hoping that I could help you
