Upgrade from Z4M .. impossible?

I went Z4M to a E92 M3 and I was left disappointed by the M3 but I think that was mainly because my zed was used as a weekend car and the M3 was my daily and I thought the M3 was ordinary inside, never felt very special and it needed to be above 6k revs to feel its power which isn't that practical in daily driving so I just got very frustrated with it.

I think a TVR/Caterham will be my next motor but if money wasn't an object I think I would be very interested in a F Type Coupe( although the auto gearbox would be an issue for me) I like the R35 GTR( again gearbox!) but my absolute favourite is the Porsche 997 GT3 :driving:

Quite agree Steven. I'd jump at the chance to spend a few years over there. I decided against a move to Russia last year, which given all the turmoil since, seems like the right choice.

One day I shall emigrate to Malaysia. I've also worked out how to get my car there without paying more than its value in taxes :D

I agree on the life side of things. Hence why I've basically dropped everything I have ever known to jump into the unknown. You can always get material things but after doing what is normal/socially acceptable/sheep like, by that I mean get a job, buy a car, nearly buy a house, I felt completely numb, unsatisfied with life and bored, to the point where I cant see myself doing it for the rest of my life. Although I love and I am passionate about what I do, doing it all day, everyday gets repetitive! So I think you have to jump at opportunity when it arises!

Aspiration to have xy and z is great and it is important. The car made me happy but I found that it filled a gap that ATM could only be temporary, there is more to life.

Suppose what I mean is if you don't step outside your comfort zone every once and a while you don't realise what your capable of and pushing that boundary is healthy and important.

So hopefully by doing this it will aid with a bit more life experience and maybe a little more fulfilment. Maybe change my perspective.

But deep for a Tuesday lol sorry!

Having lived in the UK for 25 years now, and before that in NL of course, it is a great experience to taste something very different and that feeling never leaves you either. And having one foot in civilisation and the other in England is a nice balance

Joking apart, these sort of experiences are really required to get a good feel for different people and attitudes towards others. Having seen this though, you lot up north do generally have a nicer mind set of people whilst down south there are rather a lot I would rather not associate with.

I am in total agreement with you. Which in itself is completely amazing

Gotta love how this thread has developed.

I'n my limited experience so far, the key to a successful and interesting life is ambition.

Will let you know if/when that opinion changes :p

One obvious upgrade from a ///M Coupe has been overlooked - a ///M Roadster :D

I am rather disappointed that so many of you missed this.

Very nicely put :D but you are wrong! :poke: the cheap/crappy fabric roof puts pay to that sadly :( the engine does sound sweet with the roof off though :driving: :)

I always wished I had gone with the Coupe instead of the Roadster based purely on the way the roadster looks with the roof up because I just hated the look of it but on the flip side the roadster does offer the best of both worlds.

I've driven both an MC and an MR, although there are a few on here who have actually owned both, so they would be better qualified to comment than me. To me though, they feel quite a bit different to one another. I found the Roadster to be more comfortable and have a slightly more forgiving ride. The Coupe is stiffer feeling and a bit more "urgent" and "direct".

Another one slowly becoming interesting: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201408016266763

Less sporty, more GT, but sounds awesome and super comfy.

I noticed people's ability to use motorways deteriorated the further south i drove (from northern scotland to central london), it was pretty linear. By northampton i was starting to get frustrated, buy the M25 i couldnt wait to get off a motorway. :(

Why are UK drivers, apparently Southerners, so bad at sitting in the middle/outside lanes?!

Also - this is the ultimate M3 V8 sales video (i now want one again..): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFva5Z8hio8

Different speed of life up north. But unfortunately wage in my field anyway is about 1/3 more even moving 100 miles south to Manchester but houses are cheaper.

Cumbria for example is an incredible place a lot of people buy second homes which are bargains compared to London 2/3s cheaper for similar properties but that's pushed prices up to a ridiculous amount that locals can't afford them especially 1st time buyers.

Cumbria has the views the slower pace of life but there is no real business but tourism. Average wage is like 13500 and the percentage age of 18-30 is near enough 10% I'm in the minority. Because people can't afford to live here and there's no opportunity so you go to uni and stay there.

Same in Cornwall mate. Most of my friends, me included had to move away to get a decent work, and experience etc.

I now live in SW London. Its ok, but im not a massive fan. My missus likes it though. Housing is also a joke. We could buy a big farm house in Cornwall for the price we are looking at spending on a small 1/2 bedroom flat in the area we live at the moment. Probably end up doing it for a few more years, then hopefully move somewhere nicer, and get a bigger house etc

The only benefit being that if you do manage to get onto the market in London, prices move up so quickly that it'll really set you up for when you want to move away.

House prices in London are utterly gruesome. I'd really like more room but for reasons that are too tedious to go into I *really* can't move away at the moment and a bigger house round here is just eye wateringly expensive.

Interesting discussion on Houseprices. We cosnsider our sleves fortunate, to have a good sized family home in Cornwall. Whislt freinds, living in a very nice two bed cottage, close to the station, in Surbiton. Have a property that would sell for double the amount. :?

Now back to cars.

Do we know anybody who swapped their Z4M for a baby aston?

I like the idea of the 4.7, but realistically i guess cost would dictate. My only concern with these is the power/weight.

Not sure if the mods are a good or bad thing.. but i like the look of it: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201408266892373
Or a cleaner one: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201408216764192
and a nice 4.7: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201406265335468
And a really nice one: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/aston-martin/v8-vantage-coupe/aston-martin-vantage-vh2-v8-2009/2438809
