Updated pics of the z4 3.0 si :) 2 months into ownership, haven't used it much due to weather, but it's ready for the sun now!

It's been polished up nicely now... all tar spots gone.

What I need advice on for it..... what aftermarket airfilter is the best to get?

Very nice looking car

As for air filters you won't get much in the way of gains. So just go for a standard replacement. If you want a bit more noise search for the sound generator mod on hear

Agree - I tried K and N and not noticeable difference :|

Smart looking zed 8).. Your best bet is the sound generator foam removal as mentioned earlier

Always go with the O/E air filter in a standard engine, they're usually the best and in many cases actually flow more air than some of the so called aftermarket "performance" ones. Back in the 90s I used to do a bit of spannering for a mate who ran a Mex Escort rally car at club level. We used to call K&N filters "Instant rebore kits" back then, as did most of the other guys.

They're probably a bit better these days, I don't actually know, but I still wouldn't put any aftermarket air filter near my standard engine

This makes interesting reading: http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/kn-vs-oem-filter.html

Thanks for the advice guys :)

No new mods to report on the Z4 front. I've just been keeping it clean and enjoying driving it as much as possible!

Some hairdresser has parked a TT between the Beemers. Maybe they were doing a home visit!

Nice wheels and the car is the same colour as mine. What are the wheels?

You need to get a stubby.

I'd stick to the standard filter too.

That's the girlfriend's TT :p

The wheels were from Mark at BMautosport - I was after a CS style of wheel rather than the CSL, and this is the closest he had, light weight and concave rears. I have a stubby just haven't for some reason got around to fitting it yet lol!

Seems the advice is not to change the filter so I shall not :D

Thought the only difference was the width of the front wheels 8" for CS and 8.5" for CSL

subtle design difference also. I had CSL's on my old E46 and CS on my last E92 - the spokes don't get as close together at the wheel edge on the CS compared to the CSL.
