Super easy. You remove the shifter knob then pull the leather gaiter gently upwards.

There's a little plastic on the leather insert that says "Airbag", I meant that. You can't replace the arm rest, unfortunately. I replaced my entire door card due to the damaged arm rest. Horrible job, I wouldn't do it again.
