UPDATE Can you adjust headlamp hight, dipped and main

Both my dipped beams are equally matched and the perfect height, however the N/S main beam is high. My question is, can mains be adjusted without affecting dipped. And how?

In short no. Unless the problem is with the main beam movement. Some use a shutter on some xenon from memory.

On halogens the adjuster moves the whole assembly. I assume you don't have Xenons so is the main beam bulb seated properly?

I don't have xenon, I've looked into the light and the bulbs are both seated, straight and aligned. I'll swap bulbs and see if the problem switches to the other side?
I imagine the two white adjusters are for height and left to right.

Yes, both point straight ahead but the left main goes up higher than the dipped cut off. On the right the mains pattern runs right through the cut off centre.

Just a quick update to help others:
You CAN adjust the dipped and main beam independently in each head lamp unit. My Left side main beam was too high, I found that the dipped assembly is mounted on four green rubber spacer washers. The lower washer were very loose, I tightened these which squashed them in, this brought the dipped beam up to the height on the main. I then lowered the whole head lamp via the 6mm adjuster. Now left and right (dipped/main) match perfectly.

I can also confirm that there is a "cut off" adjuster for driving on the continent. This is for basic halogen bulb type lights.

With the brighter bulbs fitted and units adjusted correctly I now find these halogen lights completely adequate and don't need to spend extra money upgrading. I hope this helps others in the future.

I utilized this same idea to swap out the projector completely. The halogen projector was meh if anything, and swapping to EvoX-R projectors and using HIDs was the best upgrade to helping with driving the car at night. Of course I mentioned this on the forum before and the laws are much more strict on the other side of the atlantic.
