Update - Bumper Clips Query

Decided to change the bumper clips today and had a little problem!

Started at drivers side and thankfully existing clip was ok, just hadn't been clipped in correctly when dealer respray end front bumper!

Passenger side was so straightforward, old one popped out no problem, possibly because it was in 3 bits already!
The new one popped into the win no problem so I'm now thinking this must be the easiest fix I've ever done!
Just couldn't get the bumper to clip back in! After 1/2 hr trying I realised that the clip was slightly different to the old one! Then I noticed the old clip had been cut to allow enough room for the bumper to clip in!
Managed to cut the new one but still not happy with how it sits!
Anyone know if there's different types of clips for E85.

I believe there are different clips for pre-facelift and face-lift cars. I wasn't aware of this until recently, when a member on here said about it.

The clips are rubbish anyway. They're designed to break under stress, fair enough, but I've broken them when reversing off a driveway and slightly caught the bumper on the ground.

Been into BMW this morning and they only do one type of clip, when I explained the issue they suggested the perhaps car had a non oem bumper fitted at some point, that had crossed my mind.
Think I'll need to made do!😢

I replaced one recently and had to cut little plastic nibs that completely blocked bumper from being pushed into place. Old one did not have them.

Having looked at some used front bumpers on eBay there is a difference between the pre facelift and facelift models! Facelift has notches cut to match the clips but pre facelift hasn't!

That's what I done but think I'll need to file it down a bit more so it's a better fit!

I struggled getting the front bumper clip back on the o/s when i was replacing the headlights . Then i had a brainwave , Clip the bracket into the bumper first and then mount the bracket from behind the wheel arch cover , 2 nuts if i remember correctly and much safer than risking breaking the bracket.
