Unwanted call

I am on the phone preference service yet I still get the odd unwanted phone call.

I have just had a phone call from 01387434864. Its strange because my area code is also 01387. Are they getting clever - I always hang up on 'international' calls without speaking.

Does anyone have experience of call blockers like the one available from Maplin?

We are getting more and more of these.

Sometimes, when I'm busy, they really p1ss me off and I get quite rude.

Other times, I enjoy stringing them along before hanging up.

They always hang up as soon as I answer, unless I manage to swear down the phone, in which case they sometimes go a bit mental :lol: sod them. Get a Real job!

Normally we hang up, but the other week we had some time.

We manged to keep on on the line for 40 minutes and in the end we decided to hang up as we had to go out ...

Had one at work a while back....feckin accident chaser. She totally missed my sarcasm when I said it was such a serious accident that I actually died!

All she was worried about was if I'd had any compensation! I repeated myself and she then put me through to her manager to progress my claim.

I told him I had died as well and he eventually got it....he started to chuckle!!!

its those automated ones that annoy me, if you pick up the phone and speak really softly they wont connect you to an operator

our virgin phone was quite bad for nuisance calls, i think it was just due to being recycled as we get calls for all sorts of people being chased for money etc. we only have that phone for her indoors' mum to call in on from overseas so now just ignore it unless at a specific time. my parents know to blip my mobile first then call on it.

Just had one on my mobile....answered and they hung up.

So I rang them back from my work phone which hides my number...let them ask who it was a few times until they gave up!!! hahahahaha

I had one on my mobile yesterday, saying did I want to review my pension arrangements, cheeky sods. I told them I was quite happy and not to bother me again. Reasonably polite of me I thought.

The ones that really annoy me are those that pretend to be from Microsoft and tell me I have a computer virus. I usually string them along for a while and then tell them what I think of their shoddy illegal scam.

Yeah, had my share of those as well. I ask if they are telling pork pies and does their mother know that they lie.

Trouble is, its often not an honest crust. I have little sympathy for the criminal fraternity. Calling me out the blue is a crime, right?!
